Not just anybody can coach at MDB

At MDB we work hard to find and keep the best coaches.  We've learned that the best coaches have had a life-long passion for the game.  They're also students of the game and have a gift for working with young people.  More than anything, they have to love the game and the reward of seeing a young person achieve their goals.  Our coaches get to work with some of the most talented and motivated players in the area so it's not too surprising that they tend to stick around.  Meet the coaches!

Coach Roland Bradley

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Roland has been with MDB for 10 years.  His favorite all-time NBA player is Magic Johnson.  When not coaching basketball, Roland enjoys being a chef.  The reason Roland has stuck around MDB this long: "how rewarding it is to help young player develop and improve."

Coach Mark MacDonald

Mark is a long time fan of basketball greats like Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West.  He hales from Two Harbors, Minnesota.  An avid fan of all sports and a dedicated family man, Mark has been with MDB for 7 years.  "Working with the kids and seeing them progress and have more fun is why I do it," says Mark.

Coach Junior Holden

Junior was born and raised in Louisiana.  He's a big fan of Michael Jordan and Bill Russell.  In his fourth year at MDB, Junior enjoys "the  satisfaction of succeeding in the relatively small amount of time we work with athletes as well as meeting interesting people."  Outside of MDB, Junior inline skates and volunteers with The Special Olympics and Downs Syndrome kids.

Coach Andrew Dahl

A relative newbie, Andrew has been with MDB for 3 years.  He grew up in Cottonwood, Minnesota and places Larry Bird at the top of his list of all-time great NBA players.  Andrew enjoys watching baseball and football when not coaching.  When asked what makes MDB different, Andrew replied, "Players come here looking to improve their skills, they leave here with confidence."

Coach Denny Tape

Our token Cheese Head, Denny grew up in Menomonie Wisconsin (which might explain why he is an avid camper). Oscar Robertson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar & John Stockton are his all-time favorite NBA players.  Like coach Dahl, Denny has been with MDB for three years.  The thing he enjoys most about coaching at MDB:  "Watching the kids reach their goals."
