Not just anybody can coach at MDB

At MDB we work hard to find and keep the best coaches.  We've learned that the best coaches have had a life-long passion for the game.  They're also students of the game and have a gift for working with young people.  More than anything, they have to love the game and the reward of seeing a young person achieve their goals.  Our coaches get to work with some of the most talented and motivated players in the area so it's not too surprising that they tend to stick around.  Meet the coaches!

Coach Kevin Kelley

Kevin is the founder of MDB.  He first started offering a training program in June 1993 after serving as an assistant men's basketball coach at Winona State University while completing his MBA degree.  He joined teh WSU staff after finishing his playing career for the Warriors and quickly discovered that more individualized training was needed for the boys and girls playing basketball in Minnesota.  Kevin continues to enjoy giving athletes the opportunity to work on their individual skills and self-confidence.

Coach Josh Simenstad
Josh has coached basketball since 1999, first in Madison, then Seattle, then here at MDB since 2008.  In addition to coaching basketball, he also coached baseball for five years.  Josh also played point guard and shooting guard up through college.  Josh's coaching philosophy "When excellence is the goal, everyone is a winner."  Josh enjoys coaching individuals and teams to help them reach their true potential and always put forth their best effort.

Coach Roland Bradley

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Roland has been with MDB for over 20 years.  His favorite all-time NBA player is Magic Johnson.  When not coaching basketball, Roland enjoys being a chef.  The reason Roland has stuck around MDB this long: "how rewarding it is to help young player develop and improve."
